Joanna Emmitt
Joanna joined Nyman Libson Paul in 2026 as a Senior Tax Manager. She is ACCA and CTA qualified and brings with her 20 years of expertise, combining a broad mixed‑tax background with deep technical knowledge and expert insight.
Tax can often feel like a maze, particularly as rules evolve and situations become more complex. Joanna works closely with clients to cut through the complications, pairing clear, practical advice with technical expertise. Whether she is preparing and reviewing returns, managing discussions with HMRC, or unpicking a particularly challenging issue, her focus remains the same: helping clients feel informed, supported and in control.
Joanna thrives on variety and problem‑solving, supporting a wide range of clients from individuals to owner‑managed businesses. She has a particular interest in advising growing and internationally connected clients, applying her technical knowledge to complex areas such as SEIS and EIS, R&D reliefs, VAT, IFTC and AVEC claims, as well as supporting individuals with multinational tax affairs.
Outside of work, Joanna’s curiosity doesn’t switch off. She loves travelling and meeting new people, always in search of a good story. At home, she enjoys cooking or baking, dancing, or getting lost in an audiobook or podcast. While it may not be everyone’s idea of downtime, she is genuinely passionate about making tax more understandable.
